FREEDOM BY OCTOBER BY ADEOYE ADETOBA

If you ever read Sidney Sheldon then this book is right up your alley. Lots of conspiracies between characters for one common goal can be found in this book, of course one party has to get greedy and sell the other one out.

JENNY TOMLIN’S “SWEETIE”

The setting of the story is London, the year is 1976, and the weather is hot and oppressive. The language of the story is raw and unapologetic. The story is boldly written and ends with jungle justice. Meted out by the women whose children have been molested, killed and damaged and supported by women who decided that it isn’t worth it waiting for justice to catch up with the unfriendly neighbour.

The Thing Around Your Neck

The book is just 218 pages. Yes, you heard me, small book. But I must admit that once I picked it up I was instantly drawn in. There are 12 short stories in all and each one drags you in and spits you out just as you begin to love the characters. I guess I am really not the type for short stories.
